Spread the love

summer timeCedar City in Utah is one of the most vibrant places on earth during the summer. It thrives in the sunshine.

If it is your first time visiting the state in the summer, be ready to be blown away by all the happenings. Clarion Suites Saint George, one of the favorite hotels in the state, says that Utah has really got it all, if you are looking for a great vacation. Here are some of the activities the locals enjoy and you should, too:

Tour National Parks

With five national parks – Arches National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Canyonlands National Park, Capitol Reef National Park and Zion National Park – and Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park is country’s national parks capital. These national parks are located close together, allowing visitors to experience them all in one trip. Whether you choose to visit just one or two, or to take a Grand Circle swing through them all, your trip is certain to be unforgettable.

Go Golfing

Mild weather calls for outdoor exercise, such as golfing. St. George is Utah’s golf capital as it has some of the best courses around the state. These golf courses are one of a kind and set against the red canyon walls and glorious black lava rock. Some have outstanding red rock desert country views, while others extend over toward the famous Zion National Park.

Join Non-Collegiate Athletic Events

Southern Utah is big in race events, such as marathon, swimming, and biking. Some of the events are Utah Summer Games (Running, Swimming, and Triathlon) which happens in the Cedar City in June. Another event to watch out for is the Bryce Canyon Half Marathon in July. Utah has athletic events all year round peaking during the summer season.

Participate in Southern Utah Festivals

There are over 35 festivals and events in Utah throughout the year. Many of these events happen in June and July. These include the Shakespearean Festival that runs from June 23 to October 29, St. George Area Chamber of Commerce Business Expo, Butch Cassidy Festival, and Utah Midsummer Renaissance Faire.
